Uncal Herniation
Welcome to Soton Brain Hub - the brain explained!
More clinical goodness with Charlotte on the Apple Pencil and Calvin at the mic. For this one we talk about uncle herniation and cover some brief anatomy, but mostly this is about symptoms and surgical management. A super quick whistle stop tour of the essential aspects, so you can get a handle on it fast.
Please do like and subscribe if you like the video, we appreciate it a lot 😍
Have a look at www.sotonbrainhub.co.uk for some nice free resources. 💪💪
Try to avoid any comments that refer to the promotion of herbal medicine as a miracle cure for devastating neurological diseases. It’s not big and it’s not clever and we will definitely tell you...

I think in Uncal herniation ,, it leads to IPSILATERAL hemoparesis .. not contralateral .
Does gabapentin work by increasing GABA?
Yep. GABA is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter of the CNS. So increasing those signals are useful to inhibit excitatory circuits that can get over stimulated and lead to seizures. Can also work as pain relief too.
THANKKK YOUUUUU
I had a stroke got my head on the right disaster mostly eye and ear infarction on right
editor: so what kind of special effects do you want to use? ALL OF THEM 😎🤯🤯
I actually wish we had an editor though, do you fancy it @User-Js2sdfgha46dgkimnlopqrstuvxyz1.
I've had this exact surgery 8 times in my life to date. 1st at 3 weeks old and last at 7yrs old. Luckily I'm 38 now and haven't had to have it replaced in 31yrs. Apparently I was a little shit when I was a baby, and toddler and my favourite hobby was to yeet myself out of my highchair onto the end valve of the radiator. My poor parents. I spent a lot of my childhood in hospital.
I am not sure there is a better comment to our videos out there!
So if someone has lenticulostriate MCA stroke, He will more probably have motor dysfunction rather than somatosensory dysfunction? (as the lenticulostriate a. supply mainly the corticospinal tract)
Yeah, true, what does the video say, it’s been a while…
Nailed it 👌
Doctor, I hope you can answer me. I have a blow to my head on the side of the cerebellum as a result of a fall since childhood, and a headache that does not leave me for a minute, suffocation, spasms in the muscles of the chest, back muscles, and feet, numbness and paresthesia in the entire body, stopping of blood in the feet or numbness, high systolic pressure 19 and diastolic 11, a drop in blood sugar, difficulty with balance, dizziness, tingling, numbness, and pain. I hope you answer me

I acknowledge the wisdom you have put into herbalism, #DrApala you not only cure these crazy illness but empower a lot of people and help them get the best of their mental health too..........
I lent Dr Apala a tenner once so he could get himself a happy meal. He didn’t even let me have a sip of his Sprite Zero which for me was the final straw. I don’t trust the man personally but people can change I guess.
This is a beautifully made video! you went straight to the point and gave the simplest explanation I can find on YT. Absolutely loved this!

It's a great privilege coming across your RUclips channel Dr ubarlo. You have always been there for me health wise. I can vividly remember how you turned up for me when I was down with Herpes. Your contribution and care was highly appreciated. You are the best doctor I have ever come across. Thank you so much for the difference you make in the lives of your patients ! Your kindness, sincere caring, and concern make everything better and are a great encouragement Dr ubarlo
When you were down with the herpes I called you several times and even offered to take you to Greggs to get you a meal deal. Don’t remember Dr Ubarlo turning up for that.
Is peripheral sensitization the process that operates in the development of chronic pain over a longer period?
Parkinson disease is a very terrible illness, my Dad suffered from it for 19 years until we finally got a help and a medicine from Dr Madida that truly works that helped treat, cure and reversed all his symptoms completely💯💯…My Dad is well again…

Bye bye
Amazing thank youb
short and easily understood.Thanks
love that long uvula
My hypothesis: excess iron (hence old people) likes to bind to protein, resulting in misfolding of the prion protein. As this goes on, the prions tie up heat shock proteins in the brain which are supposed to deal with misfolded proteins. So this reinforces accumulation of prions. This explains why it is 'transmissible' by injecting prions: the prions also tie up the heat shock proteins. But if they continued the experiments, they would probably see that these cases tend to resolve because no inherent misfolding problem. Solution: iron chelation. The 1993 Bueler paper showing that knockout mice are immune to inoculation with prions actually supports my idea, because they also found that heterozygous knockouts were also resistant. Which makes no sense unless you assume it's a quantitative phenomenon. Clearly, half as many prion proteins would still be infected. Instead, what is probably happening is prions do not propagate misfolding. Instead, prions naturally misfold. And disease is only an outcome of an imbalance of heat shock folding proteins to misfolded prions. In the experiment, the injected prions plus natural misfolding overwhelmed the heat shock proteins, leading to accumulation. But in the heterozygous case, the injected prions and naturally misfolded prions were not enough.
Short, simple, clear!

She definitely is!
Can it affect the sinuses and inner ear???
Sinuses yes, V1 and V2. Ear not so much - a tiny bit of innervation of the external ear, but the rest is cervical plexus branches and a mix of CN IX and X
